Angels are real. Hellmouths open on earth. Morgan’s action-fuelled first effort is just. Plain. Fun. Characters with murky pasts? Check. A new, interesting set of takes on old, worn-out tropes? Yup. Page-turning action? That, too. Alice is half an angel, with double the power, if only she had any idea of what was going on. Angels turn up, and turn out to be rude. Fallen angels are found from the least (or would that be most) likely places? The bad do good, and the good are often arseholes, in service to an abstract alleged greater good. Ambitious. Ambiguous. Fun.
